How we chose

We started from the 11 stations we track and kept those under 15 kg: six models. We ranked them on capacity per kilogram, then on charging speed, solar input and US price per Wh using the manufacturers’ published specifications and their store prices on Oct 11, 2026. These are dated reference prices, and several were promotional that day. Everything here is research-based, not hands-on testing.

Station Weight Capacity Wh per kg AC charge Solar input US price per Wh (Oct 11)
Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 10.8 kg 1,070 Wh 99 95 min 400 W $0.47

EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus 4.7 kg 286 Wh 61 60 min 220 W $0.98

The 1 kWh class suits a multi-day trip with a fridge, lights and devices, while the sub-300 Wh units suit a weekend of phones, lights and a laptop. The Explorer 1000 v2 is the lightest 1 kWh station we track, the best on capacity per kilogram and the lowest on price per Wh among the six, so it takes the overall award. What to watch out for

Stock changes quickly. On Oct 11, 2026 the DELTA 3 Plus was a US pre-order with shipping expected in November, the Explorer 300 v2 was listed as sold out on jackery.com, and the RIVER 3 Plus was sold out or on pre-order in the US store. Prices and promotions also change, so check the manufacturer page before you buy. If a heavier unit is acceptable, the BLUETTI AC180 offers 1,152 Wh at 16.4 kg and the same $0.43 per Wh reference price as in our budget list. Estimate how long a unit will run your gear with the runtime calculator, or browse the power station list.

FAQ

Why 15 kg as the limit?

It is our own cut-off for a unit most people can carry from a car to a campsite, not an industry standard. Six stations we track fall under it; the lightest station above it, the BLUETTI AC180, weighs 16.4 kg.

Is the EcoFlow RIVER 3 an option?

The RIVER 3 (245 Wh, 3.55 kg) is the lightest station we track, but we only hold an EU listing for it and EcoFlow does not sell it in the US store, so we did not pick it for US readers.
